The EP Soundwaves followed in 2011, while Representing, released in 2014, entered the Billboard 200 albums chart. The album was the first of many to be released on the band’s own label, including a self-titled album in 2008 and The Harvest in 2009. Formed in 2005 by brothers Steven (vocalist) and Tony-Ray Jacobo (producer), the band released their debut album, Youth Rebellion, in the same year. They draw more influence from groups like Steel Pulse and Aswad than their compatriots Sublime.
